[[original subject line]] Hey {{first_name}},

I haven't heard back from you in a while. Wondering, did I do something wrong?

Last we spoke, we talked about [[briefly summarize]].

If I skipped a beat or did not answer an important question for you, please let me know.

[[Your name]]
Not a priority?

Hey {first_name:"there"}},

I get it. Working with a [[your type of company]] isn't a priority right now. It seems like you don't have plans to [[service contact was interested in]]. Is that true?

I won't reach out again, but please feel free to get in touch if you need help with [[services you provide]].

All the best!

Relevant person

Hi {first_name:"there"}},

I'm just following up on my last email. I didn't hear back from you on [[whatever you sent over]]. If it makes sense to talk, let me know how your calendar looks.

If this information isn't relevant to you, who is the appropriate person for me to talk to?

Thanks for your help,

[[your name]]

Goodbye {{first_name}}

{{first_name}}, this is the last time you'll receive an email about our email strategy. But before we say goodbye, I want to offer [[Low-risk offer]].

[[Explain Offer]]

Imagine what you can accomplish with [[Outcome]], [[firstName]].

Steal your [[Offer]] HERE. 😊

[[Objection]]

Hi {{first_name}},

I want to tell you the story of [[Client 1]] who....[[tell a story and handle some more objections.]]...And he ended up making [[Results]].

Why am I telling you this?

Well, because just like you, [[Client 1]] also had [[Problem]] but by using our strategy, they were able to [[Results]].

This, too, can be you, if you want, {{first_name}}.

Does it make sense if we talk about how to attack [[Problem]] and help {{company}} have [[Results]]?

If so, reply YES to this email or click here!

[[offer]]

Hey {{first_name}},

If every day you find yourself with a...

[[Pain 1]]

[[Pain 2]]

Then this offer is for you.

[[Low-risk offer]]

{{first_name}}, now at least you have the opportunity to solve [[Pain]] and achieve [[Goals]].

What are you waiting for to jump on the opportunity? Act now to take advantage of [[Low-risk offer]]?

Tips for achieving [[results]]

Hey {{first_name}},

Today I want to tell you about another part of our strategy that you can implement to achieve [[Goal]].

This strategy alone has allowed [[Client]] to achieve [[Results]]. You, too, can do the same at {{company}}, especially if you do it the right way.

[[Strategy]]

[[How to]]

[[Predictable results]]

That's it. I hope this helps.

Do you have any questions about the strategy? Feel free to reach out to me. I will be happy to help you.

[[Sender Name]]

P.S. If you are lost in the shuffle and need help, you can always book a time to talk about how to [[Goal]].

[[Objection]]

But [[Objection]].

That's the response I get from many when I tell them about my strategy.

To be honest, I understand that sentiment. I would have asked the same question.

But here's the thing [[Handle objection]].

So, {{first_name}}, does it make sense if we explore how you can use our strategy to [[Goal]]?

How about [[Timeframe]]?

[[Sender Name]]

P.S. Were you able to implement the strategy I shared with you?

How to achieve [[results]]

Hey {{first_name}},

In my previous mail, I talked about the strategy that generates crazy results.

Today I want to tell you about one aspect of the strategy. This step alone can make or break your campaign. But don't worry, I'll share it with you, and you can quickly implement it at {{company}}.

[[Strategy]]

[[How to]]

[[Predictable results]]

Now you are probably wondering if this will work.

Well, the answer is YES. I know because [[Client]] has implemented it and [[social proof]].

That is, {{first_name}}, part of what you get when you sign up for the strategy.

If you are interested, just click the YES button below to schedule a discovery call.

Yes!

Thanks from [[company]]

Hi {{first_name}},

I wanted to reach out to you one last time regarding [[value proposition]].

If I don’t hear back from you, I’ll assume that the timing isn’t right and I won’t contact you again. If I can be of assistance, you can always reply to the message and I’ll be more than happy to help you.

Goodbye for now.

No response is not a "no." Follow up if you haven't received an explicit decline. But if someone asks you to stop, replies with a clear rejection, or unsubscribes, respect that immediately. These templates are designed for the silence between sends, not for overriding a stated boundary. The goal is persistence without pressure.

Each sales follow up email should introduce a new value angle. Share a case study from a similar company, reference a trigger event that happened since your first email, or offer a specific resource (audit, benchmark, framework) you didn't mention before. "Just bumping this" signals you have nothing new to say. Each follow up earns its place by changing the angle, not increasing the volume.

Space emails 3-5 business days apart. For cold prospects, lean toward 5-7 days. For warm prospects with active signals, 3-4 days works. Thread your follow ups in the same email chain so the prospect sees continuity, not a new interruption. Err on the side of slightly more time rather than less. Each email must stand alone with enough context to make sense without scrolling.

Acknowledge the timing might be wrong, offer to reconnect next quarter, and ask if there's a better person to talk to. A breakup email in sales often generates the highest response rate in a sequence because it removes pressure and gives the prospect an easy way to re-engage on their terms. The last follow up email should feel like a graceful exit, not a guilt trip.

The initial email in a sequence produces just a 2.9% reply rate on its own, according to Hunter's State of Email Outreach report. A full three-email sequence more than doubles that. Do sales follow ups work? The math is clear: without follow ups, you're leaving more than half your potential replies on the table.
